Director of Secondary Science Programs


Educational background includes a BS and MS in Biological Sciences.  Worked as a Research Technologist using electron microscopy tools and morphometric analysis to study effects of lung reperfusion in mammalian systems to bring to light causes of neonatal lung cell tissue anomalies and cystic fibrosis.  Taught biological and physical science at Thomas Jefferson High School in South Central Los Angeles for 10 years.  MA in Curriculum Development and Ed.D in Educational Leadership.  Dissertation on Charters Schools, technology, and systemic change.


While in the Palisades Family of schools, helped implement first charters schools in Los Angeles, served on the Palisades Charters Schools Foundation, and was Director of Technology for complex schools.  Worked on regional and state level committees for Digital High School grant approvals.  Five-year member of the 11 region coordinating council for the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) and Statewide Educational Technology Services Programs (SETS).  Former Director of Instructional Technology Applications for the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Oversaw all educational technology for district, state, and, federal grant programs including hardware rollouts and instructional technology plan implementation.


Currently the Director of Secondary Science overseeing all curriculum guide development, professional development, technology, science facilities development, and science grants for LAUSD.
